A Medley Buffet at Okada on my 35th

I recently celebrated my 35th birthday and decided to treat the entire family to lunch and an experience at Okada Manila a newly opened hotel and casino with various retail establishments.

Upon entrance, you will be greeted by the beauty of a tunnel with a trellis which looks like you’re heading into a vineyard.

The first thing you’ll notice on your right side are there wine selections on your left you’ll see the variety of seafood’s that they serve. You can have the seafood cooked in any way you like. Just remember your table number and give this to chef so that they can serve the cooked food on your table.

When you further venture into the buffet spread, you’ll be awed by the beauty and arrangement of the buffet spread. The buffet space is not cramped unlike other buffets here in Manila. It can fit 4 people walking on the same lane.

Once you traverse into the buffet you’ll be greeted with various types of Sushi and Appetizer’s. The arrangement and decor of the buffet spread was beautiful as you don’t even want to touch it as to its beauty.  I had to be talked to by a chef preparing the appetizer to try one out. It’s like a painting that you’d like to take a look at for a long time and just admire it.

Further venturing in, you’ll be able to see there arrangement of deserts, which is another masterpiece. You have to try there cream based strawberry and pistachio treats. It’s unique and one of a kind.

The dishes they serve and on display varies from local (Filipino) dishes, Japanese, Indian, Chinese and Western dishes.

I chose to avail of their buffet during lunch time as the rates were affordable and within our budget.

Buffet Costs and timings:

Lunch time (11:30 AM – 3:00 PM Manila Time)

  • 1,288 php per adult
  • 688 php for children

Dinner (06:00 PM -11:00 PM Manila Time)

  • 1,988 php per adult
  • 988 php for children

They accept senior citizen discount which was quite a surprise. So the payment for senior citizens will help reduce the cost of the buffet.

The buffet rates are acceptable, this is due to their ongoing sale promotion that lasts from September 23, 2017 up to October 31, 2017.

Attire is Casual dress code.

Reservation holding time is 15 minutes. Give them a call if you’re going to be late as they will give your table to walk in guests. I would not recommend heading to this buffet without a reservation.

Now if you ask me why there is a big price difference on their buffet rates it’s probably due to the following:

  • The hotel has an attraction called dancing fountain which runs from Sunday to Thursday (6:00 PM to 10:00 PM) and Friday to Saturday (6:00 PM to 12:00 AM). More information can be found on their website
    • We didn’t wait for the fountain show as we finished at 3:00 PM and we were already full and wanted to head home. The staff informed us if we want to have a good view on the water fountain show you have to be there at 5:00 PM to get better seats.
  • Duration of the buffet / Dinning hours – Lunch is 3:30 hours. Dinner runs for 5 hours.

So if you want for you and your family or you’re special someone to experience a one of a kind experience. You may want to try there buffet.

The information above mentioned is based from my opinion an experience and no way sponsored by this establishment. Apologies for the quality of the pictures as this was taken from my 5 year old Sony Xperia Z (yes the first Xperia).
